Marshall TOPS Weight Loss Support Group Begins 2022 | Lifestyles

As we begin the New Year, many are making a resolve to lose weight and lead healthier lives. The Marshall TOPS Chapter invites all who are looking for support in losing weight to join us.

TOPS Club Inc. (Take Off Pounds Sensably), was founded over 73 years ago. It is the only non-profit, non-commercial weight loss organization of its kind. TOPS offers an individual approach to weight loss and overall wellness, with thousands of chapters in the US and Canada. Members learn about nutrition, portion control, meal planning, exercise and more at weekly meetings. Constant group support, health education, and recognition are all key parts of successful weight management. TOPS is not a special diet program and does not sell any foods or plans. Your target weight is determined between you and your doctor.

The Marshall Chapter meets every Wednesday at the Summit United Methodist Church in the Youth Building. Each Wednesday begins with a weigh-in from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., followed by a club program and educational program that ends at 10 a.m. Attendance at meetings is encouraged when the emphasis is on friendship, motivation, education and recognition.

Visitors to a TOPS chapter are invited to attend their first meeting free of charge. Membership is affordable with three new plans for new members starting at $ 49 plus tax. Membership renewal packages start at $ 37 plus tax each year. The Marshall Chapter Fee is $ 4 per month, which funds monetary rewards for winning “top loser” as well as other fun competitions. TOPS is open to men, women and children from 7 years old. (No childcare is provided during meetings.)
