Nonprofit center considers property on Cleveland Avenue in Wausau

WAUSAU – An organization that aims to develop and operate a shared-space non-profit center is considering a site on Cleveland Avenue in Wausau, just south of the existing St. Vincent de Paul Thrift store.

Community Partners Campus would initially operate a 30,000 square foot facility that could accommodate eight to 15 local nonprofit partners. Additional buildings could be added as service needs are identified.

CPC would own the campus facility, which is accessible by the city bus line, and would lease space to nonprofits at below-market rates, the company said.

“Providing this type of collaborative shared space facility allows our nonprofit partners to focus on delivering services without being distracted by owning a building or spending valuable funds on things like a new one. roof or a new heating system, ”said Brian Gumness, CPC board member, in a press release. “Additionally, co-location allows our partners to share office services, employee talents, kitchen and volunteers, but the greatest benefit will be for the individuals and families who seek these services. “

CPC would employ a general manager to help coordinate services, create opportunities for collaboration, and be responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the campus.
