Pinebrook Support Group for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren | The Valley Register

The 12-week virtual program provides information while meeting the needs of grandparents raising their grandchildren.

Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania – February 25, 2022Pinebrook Family Answers (PbFA) grandparents group grassroots support program begins March 4and at 1 pm. Open to the community, the 12-week virtual program offers support and resources for grandparents, non-custodial caregivers and guardians raising children. Topics include: understanding the new role both the challenges and the rewards; understand the legal system as it relates to the care of grandchildren; promoting personal well-being, self-care, and understanding emotions; honing parenting skills, understanding child development stages and positive discipline; build relationships through effective communication skills, intrapersonal relationships and conflict resolution; working with school and community – how to navigate school systems and access community resources; and money management. In addition to the educational information provided, the goal of the group is to provide members with opportunities to connect with each other, reduce feelings of isolation, and create a community that can expand beyond our scope. of group.
